Scoop: Is Priyanka planting negative stories about Shahid?

Scoop: Is Priyanka planting negative stories about Shahid?Shahid Kapoor asks Priyanka Chopra to clear his name after recent reports show him in a bad light

The Shahid Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra break-up happened months ago. But the two had unfinished business. As late as Monday night, they had a war of words.

Apparently, Shaks felt that PC was "planting" negative stories about him. When confronted, the actress broke down.

Says a source in the know, "Shahid is disturbed by stories that talk about him desperately chasing Priyanka to woo her back into his life. He has moved on and so has Priyanka.

But the stories didn't stop. The actor refused to take a stand though friends suggested that his ex might be behind the stories.

When he'd bring it up, she'd vehemently deny it or start crying. The actor would take her at her word and leave it at that."

All hell broke loose on Monday when Kapoor was termed 'a stalker' by a section of the media. The two have been in touch and meet every other day for script-reading sessions for Kunal Kohli's film.

Notes the source, "Shaks was extremely upset at being called a stalker. He decided to get to the bottom of the matter and confronted PC.

The logic was, if he had to contact her he would do it in seclusion and not in front of 50 people at a party."

The exchange of words ended in an argument and left Priyanka in tears. Says the source, "She kept telling Shahid she had no clue why people were talking like that.

That night, a nervous PC called Shaks again to reassure him that she would sort the matter out and give a clarification denying that he was chasing her, if necessary.

"Shooting for the Kunal Kohli flick starts in three days and the two will be in constant proximity with each other for more than two months.

Today, they share a very professional relationship. Nobody needs to 'stalk' the other. They can just pick up the phone and talk whenever they like."

He said

Shahid Kapoor: (his spokesperson quoted on his behalf): "Shahid did get a call on Monday from Priyanka.

She was upset and told Shahid that will give a statement to say that there were no calls to her and that Shahid was not stalking her.

She assured him that she wanted to clear the air. Shahid was very disturbed by the false claims that he is stalking Priyanka. He meets her very often for readings of Kunal Kohli's film and doesn't need to chase anyone."

She said

Priyanka Chopra: "I am appalled by these reports. This is completely untrue and is just a figment of someone's overactive imagination.

Shahid and I are friends and are soon to be co-stars in a new film. These are baseless rumours and frankly, very demeaning to both of us."

Earlier Fights

>> They fought on Valentine's Day as they could not devote time to each other on the ocassion.

>> Priyanka Chopra was very disappointed with the audience's reaction to her latest flick 7 Khoon Maaf and wanted Shahid to comfort her. He didn't oblige. She was furious and flew to Los Angeles on his birthday.

The buzz doing the rounds then was that Shahid tried every trick in the book to bring her back in the country for his birthday, but the lady was too angry to consider any reconciliatory gesture.

>> The couple fought over a chicken dish at a restaurant. A vegetarian, Shahid was upset that Priyanka wanted to eat non-veg.

>> It was reported ('Please forgive me'; March 15; HiTLIST) that Shaks was going all out to woo PC back. In fact, when she returned on Friday from her Don 2 shoot, he apparently kept bombarding her with 'miss you' and 'let's work it out' SMSes.

>> Priyanka got busy with Don 2 and it led to them deleting each other from their social networking pages.

They also had a fight when Priyanka got friendly with Ranbir Kapoor while shooting for Siddharth Anand's Anjaana Anjaani and she even went ahead to sign another film opposite Ranbir during this period, Anurag Basu's Barfi.
