Is Mallika self-promoting her item song?

Is Mallika self-promoting her item song?

Is Mallika self-promoting her item song?A bitchy actress called to say that Mallika Sherawat has been tweeting that she drove through the suburbs of Boston blasting Jalebi Bai on her radio with the windows down!

"The sexy siren feels that her Double Dhamaal track will overtake the Sheilas and Munnis of Bollywood.

If only she had given that much importance to her career, she would be driving with those windows all rolled up to avoid the papparazzi and fans.

But she's known to hire her own paparazzi to follow her and now even to listen to her music!"

Sridevi Vs Madhuri. Who is rekindling the nasty old rivalry?

Sridevi Vs Madhuri. Who is rekindling the nasty old rivalry?

Sridevi Vs Madhuri. Who is rekindling the nasty old rivalry?Filmmakers keen to cast Madhuri to counter Sridevi's comeback

Now that Sridevi has begun shooting for her comeback movie English Vinglish, some filmmakers have been trying to woo Madhuri Dixit for their projects as well. They are keen to have a Mads film lined up for release around the same time as Sri's!

They want to rekindle the old rivalry between the two stars. Sridevi was the undisputed queen of B-Town in the '80s until Madhuri Dixit did a Ek Do Teen in Tezaab to topple her from her position.

Mads is currently back home in the US after finishing her television outing Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

The race begins

Says a source, "Some filmmakers are keen to rope Madhuri for their projects. They are exploring the option casting her and then pitting her against Sri. Considering that both the stars have a huge fan following, it would be interesting to watch the audience's reaction and eagerness to see who outdoes who all over again."

Recently, there was a controversy about Madhuri's inclusion in the Satte Pe Satte remake. According to buzz, the producers (Ashtavinayak) and director Soham Shah went ahead and announced that she would be essaying Hema Malini's role.

But co-producer Sanjay Dutt, who was to be cast opposite her, felt he had not been consulted and appeared miffed by the happenings.

Not for now

Adds the source, "Satte Pe Satta has now been pushed to next year because Dutt is busy with Agneepath.

As he will be sporting a bald look, it will take him a while before he grows it back. It is also not clear that Madhuri will be a part of Satte Pe Satta. So other filmmakers are showing interest."

Says Madhuri's spokesperson, "Yes, some filmmakers are interested. But we wouldn't like to comment on Satte Pe Satta."

In the past

The rivalry between Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit dates back to the '80s. At a time when Sridevi was firmly on the top of Indian cinema's female fatales with Mr India (1987) hitting BO highs, in came Madhuri Dixit.

And then began a tough competition between the two. Mads won the Best Actress for Beta in 1992. Sri rendered the biggest flop of her career Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. She lost her No 1 status. And, then began the rat race...

While Mads delivered super hit films like Dil, Tezaab, Khalnaayak, Sri churned average hits like Chandni and Lamhe.

However, in 1994, with the release of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, it became clear that Madhuri had superceded Sri, who then went out of focus and disappeared with her last hit in 1997, Judai.

Mads continued to reign for a while until Karisma Kapoor subjugated her throne with Raja Hindustani. After her last hit Dil Toh Pagal Hai in 1997 and Devdas in 2002, she stayed away from B-Town due to marriage and later motherhood.

However, Sri and Mads never let the rivalry affect personal life and public appearances. There was never any bad-mouthing. But the currents of their competition always made headlines, like they are doing now!

Ranbir is sick of being a Casanova, Imran defends him

Ranbir is sick of being a Casanova, Imran defends him

Ranbir is sick of being a Casanova, Imran defends himRanbir Kapoor is hell-bent on de-tagging the Casanova label from him, feels awkward facing family, too

Funny that the tag of a ladies man should affect a Kapoor! The Kapoors are known for their love for women and romance.

But surprisingly, the youngest Kapoor of the family is feeling burdened under the pressure to be more 'decent' and be discreet about his dating scene.

Sources tell us that Ranbir's parents, Rishi and Neetu, do not like the fact that Ranbir is being linked with almost all of his heroines.

Not that they are mere stories, Ranbir likes girls and as any normal single man would do, likes going out on dates with them. But according to sources, the family is concerned that too much play would affect his image and subsequently, his career.

Recently at an event, Ranbir confessed that his parents feel upset after reading such stories and he feels awkward facing his family members. He is answerable to them and the loose talk about his character is not really being appreciated.

However, a source from the industry tells us, "Ranbir didn't really realise that his dating scene would affect him so much. He would ask out whichever girl he fancied.

He forgot that he is a public figure and he cannot continue doing what he did back in college. So the media reported about every date that he we went for. This is a lesson for him to be more discreet rather than getting upset that it is being reported."

Close buddy Imran Khan recently defended him by saying, "If he enjoys life, wine, women... there's nothing bad about it. Ranbir's not doing anything illegal, but if media wants to write about it, you can't stop them."

Would we be stretching our imagination if we say that the latest stand up comedy act that Ranbir did for a commercial almost speaks of his dilemma?

The dialogue in the ad says, "When a phone service can keep five devices happy you go wow and if we talk about one man keeping five women happy it is considered bad. Its hypocritical!"

CELEBRITY GOSSIP: Angelina Jolie Gushes About Brad Pitt

The typically reserved actress is still hot for Brad Pitt, and she's free-spiritedly discussed why she finds her man so sexy in an upcoming interview with The Telegraph.

"I am very lucky with Brad," Jolie said. "He is a real gentleman, but he is also a real man's man. He's got the wonderful balance of being an extraordinary, great, loving father, a very, very intelligent man and physically he's a real man...in all things that it means."

And Pitt apparently makes the femme fatale actress, who consistently plays butt-kicking female figures, feel super girly. "I love that I can have children. I love feeling soft, I love being with Brad, I love all the sensitivity and natural emotion."

The actress is taking a professional divergence for her next role -- she'll portray Cleopatra in a new biopic directed by The Social Network's David Fincher. But don't expect the strong-willed Angelina to channel Elizabeth Taylor, who also played the Egyptian ruler in a 1963 film. (The late actress apparently refused to give Angelina her blessing for the remake.)
